The Prevention services of Special Health Resources for Texas, Inc. provide prevention and educational services to all persons in the 23 counties served by the agency. This department tests more than 3500 persons per year for HIV, with additional testing done for Syphilis and other STDs. Sadly, in 2009, this department identified 29 new cases of HIV. The efforts of this department will continue until the day arrives when we test 3500 people and no new cases of HIV are reported. We offer free testing at our South High Street offices in Longview and across the 23 counties.
